SAULT COLLEGE - NET ZERO BUILDING

The original building was designed and ready to move into production drawings, but an important change was made.  We are extremely excited as this building was re-imagined and designed as the first Net-Zero building on Northern Ontario.

This change necessitated the complete redesign of the building to accommodate the extremely high insulation values, and incorporate passive and active energy generation strategies.

The building envelope was decreased in area, although the foorprint remained the same and volume and thermal values increased substantially to improve the building’s performance.  Active energy generation through roof mounted solar panels, as well as air to air heat exchangers will power the building.
