The 400 acre, Stokely Creek Ski Touring Centre, has been recognised as one of the three best cross country ski resorts in North America. (Source: ‘Cross Country Ski Magazine).

The concept of the facility is to replicate in the small village-like setting, a rustic, comfortable human quality and scale. Telephones and televisions are almost non existent, whilst wholesome food and camaraderie is plentiful.

Mr. Ellis worked for several years with the owner, (until Mr. Petersen’s passing) and the Stokely Ski Club, to ensure the feel, materials and functionality of buildings worked together as a whole. The buildings designed by Mr. Ellis included a new members chalet, saunas, administrative offices, the main dining room, conference rooms, maintenance building, waxing building, trail grooming machinery garage, several guest chalets, etc.
