NEW SOCIAL SERVICES BUILDING

This building will replace Sault Ste. Marie’s Social Services  multiple locations, now housed in a diverse array of sometimes aging and overcrowded existing facilities, to provide a single point of contact for all their services, including housing, daycare, employment, etc.

The design is flexible to allow both employees to both work at home and work in office and a shift to provide private interview rooms for all visitors to the building, to enable social distancing and also to enhance security.  The building is sited to enable the new building to be constructed adjacent  while their older main building can continue to operate until the new construction is completed.  

Currently out for tender, with the anticipated construction to start Summer 2021.
