SAULT STE MARIE AIRPORT ADDITIONS AND RENOVATIONS

The existing airport has required expansion and renovations to accommodate new security equipment and protocols, as well as to provide additional room with the addition of          international flights and the larger sized aircraft and thus passenger numbers.  We used 3D analysis to provide a comprehensive design tool, as well as a method of continued and controlled expansion for the future.

This all had to be accomplished whilst the airport kept running at normal capacity. This required selective phasing of work to ensure all security requirements were met, plus access for handicapped individuals (the airport building is raised approximately three feet from the tarmac, so new lifting devices replaced the existing ramps), as well to washrooms. Noise, passenger safety and other factors also had to be considered as part of the building plan.
