ALGOMA UNIVERSITY COMPUTER SCIENCES DEPARTMENT

This department was the first to be built as part of the Master Plan we executed for the University.

The concept is that although we have some traditional classroom spaces, much of the learning will be collaborative in nature, so that those corridor like transitional spaces become the focus of the department.  We have designed it to be fully ”wired” (both hard and wifi) complete with smart boards, charging ports and device friendly spaces, so that students and faculty can share and learn from each other, in an informal environment, closer resembling a tech company feel. It is housed in a basement space with no windows, so we opened up the corridor and widened it to accommodate furniture and gatherings and used colour to brighten the interior.
