Ontario Provincial Police Detachment

Ontario

The original detachment building comprised of a small office and an attached garage.  It was determined that future renovations would not yield acceptable quarters for the growing detachment, nor incorporate modern police methods and systems.  A replacement building was required.

The project incorporates the latest technology, forensic and security systems and requirements of the Ontario Provincial Police.  Mr. Ellis determined that the building housed what were essentially two distinct areas that could be separated by both construction type and function.  One portion of the building incorporates cells, bull pen, interview rooms, breath testing, booking and other functions, which is constructed of masonry, pre-cast concrete other highly durable materials.  It contrasts with the administrative areas that are more comfortable and office-like, incorporating modern communications, data and security systems.
