White Pines Collegiate and Vocational School Sault Ste Marie Community Theatre

This performing arts centre is an example of an addition and renovations within an educational facility.  It was developed in conjunction with the local public school board, the city of Sault Ste. Marie and several community performing arts groups.

Our firm worked with the School Board and Arts Council to develop an approach which utilized the existing high-school as the platform for the new facility.  This partnership allowed the two groups to share the costs associated with operating the facility and has become the focal point for live performances in the city.

The project consists of a 1000 seat auditorium, a retractable orchestra pit, green room, full lighting, specialized acoustic control and sound reinforcement facilities.  A proposed Phase Two will provide a separate community entrance, as well as a lounge area for the public.
