Elim Pentecostal Tabernacle Addition

Ontario

The existing church was suffering from several building failures, especially relating to roofing and space deficiencies for the entrance, fellowship hall and teaching relating areas.  One specific goal of the building committee was that the proposed addition “look like it has always been there”.

The existing sanctuary configuration was sufficient and therefore it would not be altered in any new programming.  However, the existing entrance pavilion and basement required extensive reworking.  The proposed scheme adds a new front entrance containing administrative offices and washrooms.  The lower fellowship hall has been expanded substantially and a new full service kitchen provided.  Some existing spaces, freed up by the new additions, are to be converted into teaching and nursery areas as well as an elevator to provide better accessibility.
